Surgery...

Last night Jan was taken to the operating room for what would be hours of surgical procedures.

They were able to coordinate the plastic surgeon with the other surgeons to tackle the difficult job of starting his facial reconstruction. After setting and "pinning" (which will involve plates and screws) his femur, the biggest leg bone, then creating the tracheotomy, his facial procedures took place.

He arrived back to ICU at 2am this morning.

Family was able to take the evening sleeping at various friends houses while Jan was in surgery. Refreshed as one can be during a time like this they'll be back at his bedside early this morning.
